To Know...Or Not To Know.....
When we first found out we were expecting...we were completely torn on if we should find out the sex of the little Noodle we were having. Let me explain...when we had our first ultrasound...the baby looked, well...just like a macaroni noodle..and from then, the name Noodle just sort of stuck! My little brother says he will probably call the poor kid Noodle for the rest of its life! Well..there are worse things to be called, I suppose!
Frank and I really struggled as to what we wanted to do. We literally went back and forth so many times, we forgot what it was we were trying to figure out. We have friends that have done it both ways and the arguments are completley valid for both finding out the sex and not finding out! As our friend Bill told us, "how many real suprises do you get in your life?"
As good of a point as that was...we decided to find out the sex of the Noodle..I am such a planner..how could I not? I almost had myself convinced that I could just go gender nuetral on everything and just be suprised at delivery. Did you notice that I said I ALMOST had myself convinced!? No way! I needed to know...
We went in for our 15 week ultrasound...one cool thing about being considered high risk is the amazing amount of monitoring and ultrasound we receive. It's been really neat to see the Noodle grow. In the middle of this amazing display of our child turning summersaults in my uterus, the technician said "do you want to know the sex?"...and in unision, we both said "yes, please!"...she told us we were expecting a BOY!! This made me cry...and I am pretty sure Frankie teared up too! Let the shopping and planning begin...we are having a little baby boy! Man, I am going to seriously be outnumbered at home now!
